Smile File-New Name that Frog!

Okay so I think this is super raaad…new frog species discovered right in NYC baby!!!   It took 4 years to declare this little guy a new kind of leopard frog species. A little slice of nature discovery just for us New Yorkers :D! Pretty awesome, no? A tad more awesome than the Brooklyn Bee in my opinion. This little city dweller has no name yet, but check out some of the fun suggestions HERE and add your own! (Story… View Post

What I Wore-Going Gatsby

The charm of New York NEVER ends I tell you! The 6th bi-annual Jazz Age Lawn Party was held a few weeks ago on Governors Island and I was happy to attend with some lovely peeps. When I think of the 20’s I think of The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. The description of  the elite life in Long Island with dreamy white lace dresses á la Mia Farrow in the film version with Robert Redford (hubba hubba). I… View Post

I recently rearranged my apartment to accommodate the new beautiful screen courtesy of the BF and I’m just so happy with it. Ever piece of furniture minus the bookshelves is thrifted. Remembering 9/11

I honestly can not believe it’s been 10 years. It’s an impossible feat to try to remember what 9/11 and the days after felt like and I don’t want to try to relive it. I haven’t watched the news all week because it’s been flooded with imagery from this horrific day and stories that are too crushing to hear. The above image is of the 9/11 Memorial Fountain designed by Michael Aradand landscape architect Peter Walker titled Remembering Absence, it… View Post

What I Wore-My Friend the Smoothie Operator

A couple of weeks ago I received this text message from one of my nearest and dearest friends Jules. “Hi! I’ve been making smoothies. How about I stop by your office later as you’re finishing up work and bring you a banana,  peanut butter, choc, soy milk smoothie? Protein powder is optional.” Bahahaha…how cute is she?!?! And how lucky am I to know her??! I had a short work day and was able to snap some pics of my outfit… View Post

Sunny Days…

Hi friends. Most of you know that I live in NYC and with that fact I thought it would be hugely remiss to not mention hurricane Irene. Especially since watching the news and fleeing my apartment on the East River were the activities of my weekend. I can not tell you how hugely relieved I am that Irene dwindled down to a tropical storm that blew past NY with a lot of wind and a lot of rain but not… View Post

FTF Blog Event-Inspiration NY

I know I’ve told you how much I love love love living in Manhattan and as a forewarning this will probably not be the last time I do a little ode to my home. As I was reading Just Kids I kept thinking of New York… View Post

Wonderful Weekends

Friends, I have a problem with taking pictures in real life. I constantly forget to capture the moment, which kind of bums me out. So this new feature will hopefully get me in a better habit of taking pictures plus I’ll get to share my lovely weekends with you! This weekend my dad was in town from Vienna, staying with my bro in Queens. So I spent the whole weekend over at the bro’s place for quality time with the… View Post

What I Wore-Romping Around

It was a date night for me and the boy. We’re a pretty simple couple just out to enjoy the warm weather and a lobster roll at Luke’s Lobster (mmm, yum). My go to look numero uno for Summer is something short. (romper-walter via cadillac castle consignment; blazer-target; necklace-street fair; shoes-urban outfitters; bracelets all gifted) I actually have a thing with rompers. I LOVE the way they look but hmmm how shall I put this…(boys, please excuse us) you kind… View Post
