What I Wore-Summer Rainy Day Outfit

Rainy warm days used to be a little tricky for me. Because my feet get super hot (*blushing*), so wearing boots or galoshes while it’s already hot is not my ideal solution to summer rain. That’s why I’m happy to have my Melissa Shoes! These keep my feet dry, saves me from “wet shoe feeling”, and they don’t make my feet hot like boots. Winning! Ethical Swimwear-Bikinis

We’re in the midst of summer and I definitely have the beach on my mind. I’ll need to make a trip out there soon(!) but till then, here are my faves in ethical swimwear-the bikini addition. I typically prefer a more covered bathing suit, so if you’re looking for teeny bikinis, this is not the place, lol. Maybe that makes me a bit of a prude, but I want to swim(!) and so I like to wear things to the… View Post

Amour Vert-An Ethical Alternative

Last year when I asked you to think about solutions to your biggest obstacles to being a more conscious shopper, sweet and loyal reader Christine said she’d want to know ethical alternatives to mainstream stores. I really LOVE this idea for a new feature on Made To Travel, but honestly I found it really challenging to match a brand’s complete aesthetic and price point whether it’s an ethical alternative or not. Because I want to give you a real true… View Post

Consciously Trending: Spring Things

(tear drop vase $18) Well you wouldn’t really know it’s officially Spring here in NY-gray and actually snowy! But that is not going to keep me from dreaming of Spring things. I just treated myself to the above bud vase to hang over my desk. I think it’s a sweet treat to have a flower just for me in my office space. For Spring I’m mostly craving really pretty fresh colored pastels in unexpected places and fabrics and the other… View Post
