What I Wore…as the Birthday Girl

So friends most of you know I celebrated a birthday recently… That is right! I turned the big 3-0 :D. I was really looking forward to turning 30; the journey of my 20’s has really felt long (in a good way). Graduating college, trying out lots of media fields, and then slowly working my way to become a professional, and confident in what I do. There were just so many changes, I felt I lived two lives within my 20’s;… View Post

Last Minute Mother’s Day Gifts

Gifting is nearly my favorite thing to do and mother’s day is especially dear to me because as most of you know I’m very close to my dear mamacita. You can meet her for a few seconds here (a.k.a my favorite post ever 🙂 ). So to help you find the perfect gift for your dear mama here are a  few last minute gifts for mother’s day. Hand on heart- I picked really simple things that won’t take more than… View Post

What I Wore-Two new faves!

Hi hi friends! I have not done an outfit post in quite a while, mostly because during the holidays all I’m thinking of is giving special gifts so my posts and mind have really been in the giving mode. BUT I have gotten a few additions to the wardrobe that I’m super excited about and wanted to share. (sweater-thrifted target; shirt-unknown, sorry it’s from college; boots-miz mooz; scarf-sustainable nyc) So my first new favorite thing is this fantastic green scarf… View Post

Wonderful Weekends

Friends, I have a problem with taking pictures in real life. I constantly forget to capture the moment, which kind of bums me out. So this new feature will hopefully get me in a better habit of taking pictures plus I’ll get to share my lovely weekends with you! This weekend my dad was in town from Vienna, staying with my bro in Queens. So I spent the whole weekend over at the bro’s place for quality time with the… View Post

Smile File-My New Tattoo and Thoughts on Giving

Hello friends, I told you I really wanted a tattoo from Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree (post here) because my brother played the Giving Tree in grammar school and the memory of my mama and aunt making his costume out of poster board has really stuck with me  all these years. Well, I got it! I looooove my new tattoo.  The story of The Giving Tree is a beautiful one of love, generosity without limits, time and kindness. It actually… View Post

What I Wore-Bag of the Moment

I’m a bit of a serial bag monogamist. I tend to get incredibly infatuated with one bag and love it till it falls apart then move on to the next. At the moment I’m obsessed with this tote that my dear mamacita gave me years ago. I am loving the message, the strong graphic lettering, and the red, white and blue. The quote on the bag is by John F. Kennedy. My mama has spent her life trying to make… View Post

What I Wore-Dinner at Stardust Diner

My aunt and cousin were in town from Florida last week and my mom being as gracious as she is took them to a Broadway show and some dinner. Mamacita also asked for me and broski to join them and this is what I wore. (jacket-century 21; gray sweater-target; dress and boots-urban outfitters) At the moment I’ve been so hesitant to put away my boots; the rain and the chilly weather in NY keeps me doubting the chills are over.… View Post

For the Boys-Ode to Bro

June is the Bro’s birthday so I have to start brainstorming things for my Broski right this second because he’s the most difficult person on this planet to get gifts for, hence this For the Boys is an ode to my dearest Bro. Here is the Bro! Broski hates taking pictures (much like me in real life), but I know he loves this one. These were taken last year when I and bro and a bunch of friends went skydiving.… View Post

Smile File…My mamacita :)

It was my mom’s birthday yesterday. She really does everything possible to make our lives as good as possible. She raised us to be kind and strong and I am so grateful for it. She is crafty (diy queen, she made that frame lol), cute, funny, joyful, generous and FULL of surprises.  I am so lucky to have this woman in my life. Thank you mama for everything, life IS sweet. (p.s.-I posted a really wonderful example of my mom’s… View Post

Smile File part deux….2/10/2011-Wear your heart :)

I want my bit about jewelry from yesterday to have it’s own post. I  really want to encourage wearing things that are meaningful to you  because it really does brighten my day. I typically over accessorize and you might miss these gems on me since I’m over gemmed typically, but I always wear something from 3 very special people: my mamacita, my dad and my dear Aunt who is like another mom. The Cartier watch was a college graduation gift… View Post
