What I Wore-Two new faves!

Hi hi friends! I have not done an outfit post in quite a while, mostly because during the holidays all I’m thinking of is giving special gifts so my posts and mind have really been in the giving mode. BUT I have gotten a few additions to the wardrobe that I’m super excited about and wanted to share.

(sweater-thrifted target; shirt-unknown, sorry it’s from college; boots-miz mooz; scarf-sustainable nyc)

So my first new favorite thing is this fantastic green scarf from Sustainable NYC by Zig Zag. Every single time I wear it someone at work tells me how much they love the color or a stranger stops me in the street and asks me about it.

This scarf is warm, so super soft and cozy; it’s by a fair trade company called Zig Zag. It wasn’t on the Sustainable NYC website but I found it for you HERE! Honestly no pictures will do this green justice it’s really a lush lush green.

And my second new addition to my most favorite list is this extraordinary ring I got for Christmas from my mom. This ring is special. It is not only this gorgeous delicate and bold coral rose but it is heavy with meaning for me because it was my grandmother’s.

My grandmother passed away when I was just a baby but so much of my family sees a really strong resemblance in our features, our carriage and our styles so I’ve always felt very close to her. This ring is really the perfect perfect embodiment of our worlds. I love that it was hers and I really treasure that she picked this ring for herself but somehow it suits me to a tee.

So friends do you have that kind of style lineage? I think it’s really beautiful that I can see my style in a grandmother I have always felt I’ve known but never really met…kind of magical actually.

I love that I now own several pieces from my mom’s closet; i plan to keep them forever!!

Gosh I adore that scarf, it’s simply gorgeous. And the ring is absolutely beautiful. My father always says I remind him of my great-grandmother, on the Spanish side. But I never met her and I haven’t even seen a picture of her – wonder if there are any? – . I definitively inherited my love for fashion and as we say in Spain, “los trapitos” from my Spanish aunts 😉

I adore that green scarf on you! It is so vibrant, such a deep color. Love it! I really like your maxi skirt too. Perfect outfit! Your grandmother’s ring is beautiful. I inherited all my mother’s and grandmother’s jewelry when they died. I wear their pieces all the time. It makes me feel close to them. I’m sure you feel the same when you wear your ring.

Oh, that ring is beautiful, and the story behind it even moreso. And you’re beautiful, too. I’ve missed you! I’m glad you got these lovely new additions to your wardrobe (and your life – sometimes those special little things with such big meaning come right through to affect the way we live, you know?). And I’m so glad you shared them here. (:

We need to talk about that scarf business, too, because it’s just gorgeous!

Hi my dear friend. I’ve been seriously out of touch with this move! This is such a cool post because when I was just a baby, one of my grandmas died and my family says that we’re a lot a like too. I hardly remember her, yet I feel like I really got to know her 🙂 Oh and its not my little sister who will be getting married but one of my older sisters. I have a big family!
