I Heart the Internet

Good Monday my friends! I had the best time ever over the weekend at the Museum of Moving Image in Astoria…more on that another time, but for right now here are some links to start your week.

  • Above, beautiful and never released images of Marilyn Monroe.
  • Ecosalon has a great list of 5 fashion trends to THRIFT right now!
  • If you have not read Steve Jobs eulogy written by his sister Mona Simpson, you need to right this instant-I got chills at the end.
  • A very disturbing list of coloring books.
  • Loved this post on a fashion show starring breast cancer survivors.
  • Women boxers advised to wear skirts…seriously!?!?!
  • Finally below, Hyperbole and a Half has returned with a hilarious bit on being sad for no reason.

I hope you all have a fantastic week!

I was so glad to see Allie had updated, even it was about depression. & how talented is she, that she can make such a down topic funny?

Now I’m off to check out those Marilyn pics…

I was literally overjoyed when I checked my reader and Allie was updated! I found it hilarious, mostly b/c I think everyone experiences a case of the no reason blues.

You are so artistic dearest Jamillah! I could write a whole blog on the photo of Marilyn…it can be interpreted in so many ways and truly a classic. I think of it as beauty not being perfect, yet she embraces it with such joy and style. She is not sitting at home nursing her foot but living life to the fullest and in fact spreading the joy!! Thank you for sharing Jamillah, you made me smile and inspired me!

I love all the links on this list, thanks so much for sharing! I couldn’t agree more with your comment about Mona Simpson’s eulogy for her brother, Steve Jobs. It had so much impact on me that I sobbed for about 30 minutes (luckily I was at home), so I was very happy to see it included in your list. Oh and those coloring books?? I was o_O at the 9/11 one and also the Black Panthers one (that one was funny though…disturbing, but funny!). Thanks so much for this post!! xx 🙂
