What I Wore-Outfit Flurry!

Hi friends! I present my outfit flurry! Last week was pretty much a blur of activity and I thought best to sum up everything in one post for you.

I gave you a sneak peek of my outfit for the Independent Fashion Bloggers’ Conference well here is the whole shebang :D.

It was rainy  hence the jacket and boots (gawsh! can’t believe I’m wearing boots!) and unfortunately work totally got the best of me during IFB Conference. I was late and then on my blackberry a lot and even siphoned some phones from kind friends in order to manage my client, which was a bit of a bummer.

But despite being preoccupied I got to learn quite a bit, get inspired and have some laughs. If you are interested in some of the key talking points I encourage you to read Katy Rose’s post on her IFB takeaway HERE or Elissa’s from Dress with Courage on what she learned at the IFB Conference HERE.

Noelani took this pic of me for pose.com.

The next day was Fashion Night Out and I have to say a big thank you to Marissa for allowing me to be her date to the Rockport event. I love you dearly, friend.

Hi! I’m sorry we have to take a moment to talk about my shoes :D. I got them for $10 at the Blogger Closet Raid from Jennine of the Coveted.

Oh and these shoes!

The Rockport event was held at Dylan’s Candy Bar. They had the most delicious cocktails and threw a wonderfully fun shoe design competition for RISD.

But I actually decided to ditch the rest of FNO for a very special performance thrown by the French Institute. Patti Smith!!! I read her memoir Just Kids and was so delighted that she would be in town and thought her performance would be way worth missing the discounts and free booze all over the city.  And friends, it was! Patti Smith definitely still has it and it was amazing to see her live.

I LOVE this pin! They gave them out as we exited and it translates roughly to, “we’re all good” :).

LASTLY! Was the Bloggers’ Clothing Swap thrown by Modcloth and Swap.com and Bloggers Night Out.

I could not wear heels this evening. I live pretty darn close to the event so I walked there and knew I would be walking home so decided to wear my flats from Buffalo Exchange.

I scooooored at the swap!

For every item you brought to swap you were able to choose from the racks of clothing the other bloggers brought AND a piece from the Modcloth rack. I love that the items people brought were tagged with all the blogger info so when I wear these pieces (and believe me I’m gong to wear them!) I get to shout them out! Super clever way to swap!

Bloggers Night Out was also super fun! There were a lot of great bloggers and sponsors and I walked away with a collection of Zoya nail polish and a $25 gift card to Lulu’s :D.

So freinds, now that fashion week is coming to a close here how did you all fair?! Have you been inspired?

One of these years I’ll get to fashion week…but I’d make the same choice as you to see/hear Patti Smith.

You are always so upbeat in your posts, it puts a smile on my face every time :). We have our own mini IFB event happening in London tomorrow, which is pretty exciting! Your swapping haul looks brilliant, I look forward to seeing those pieces styled up.

Also thanks for your thoughts on my jumper DIY! I still haven’t decided what design to go for. Paralysed by indecision…

Wow it looks like you had quite the busy couple of days! I would have followed suit and ditched the FNO insanity for a chance to see Patti Smith (and those buttons they gave out are too cute!) I love the idea of each blogger tagging their items to be swapped, can’t wait to see how you wear everything!
