Shop For MORE-A Green Option for a Close Shave

Friends, I don’t have a perfect lifestyle and while I try to incorporate as much ethical shopping as I can there is definitely so much I still need to do! Which is why I really love Annabella’s approach (post here): start one item at a time!

So I get back from vacation and open my luggage to find the Gillette Venus Razor I’ve had for years broken in half. I was about to go to CVS to buy a new one when I thought…well here’s an opportunity, so instead I went to Sustainable NYC in the East Village to see if there was a green alternative and I found one!!

This is the Preserve: Triple Razor, my new razor! The Preserve is 100% recyclable and made in the U.S. out of recycled yogurt cups and at $9 bucks it’s exactly the cost of my old Venus razor. The blade is unisex and available in all kinds of fun colors! Honestly I’m a little sad I got it in green because it comes in a great fuchsia!

Now friends, I was really afraid to try this product. I’ve been using the Venus for so long and was happy with the quality of the shave and  I have super sensitive skin and am pretty wary to try anything new on it, so I was really going into this with lots of reservations.

But I’m so happy to report I LOVE this product!!! The Preserve razor is really light and the handle is made easy to grip! The quality of shave is also really great! I got a super close shave using this razor and no skin irritation from the moisture strip :).

Another feature I really love from the Preserve Triple Razor is how easy it is to remove and replace the blade. I couldn’t quite manage this in pictures so in case you wanted to see this feature of The Preserve in action I made a little video for you! My first one (well, except the one of my mama, HERE)…Be kind!

I hope you enjoyed this very practical Shop for MORE! You can find the Preserve Triple  Razor on the Preserve website HERE or on amazon.com HERE.

This is a great idea! Starting out one at a time is much more attainable than trying to do a whole bunch at once. It almost even burns you out! I have really sensitive skin too so I’m always skeptical about trying new product. I wish there was a store like this in Hawaii! Oh and I’m still working on the IFB conference. I would LOVE to go. We’ll see 🙂

ah you put me to shame! I tried the ethical fashion route but things were either too expensive or too small (i didnt come across much ethical fashion for very tall girls). I love your approach and attitude though xx

This is such a good feature that you do.

The video is good! It cuts out in the middle of a sentence, but it’s not hard to see or hear or understand up to that point..! :]

I didn’t know Preserve made razors! I use their toothbrushes and they come in nifty little packages that are prepaid mailers so you can send the toothbrush back to be recycled when your done with it. Plus, they’re the cheapest toothbrushes at Target.

You just sold me. I will look for it- love the idea of preserve but the bristles on their toothbrushes don’t cut it for me. I am def down for a more sustainable, and ethical razor!
PS: you live in NY? New York City? Are you going to the blogger conference on the 7th then?
