What I Wore-Pattern Here and There

I really love the look of pattern mixing, but I have yet to do it in a really bold way á la Zarna or print mixing guru Anika. Zarna of Zarna’s Runway Anika of By Anika (P.S.-these ladies are amazing, if you don’t follow their blogs really you are missing out. Zarna is a sweetheart she’s gorgeous and showcases the style gamut and Anika…oh Anika, the most inspirational voice on the blogsphere for me. Check them out!) So Zarna and… View Post

Smile File-My New Tattoo and Thoughts on Giving

Hello friends, I told you I really wanted a tattoo from Shel Silverstein’s The Giving Tree (post here) because my brother played the Giving Tree in grammar school and the memory of my mama and aunt making his costume out of poster board has really stuck with me  all these years. Well, I got it! I looooove my new tattoo.  The story of The Giving Tree is a beautiful one of love, generosity without limits, time and kindness. It actually… View Post

Smile File-HELLO!

Mental Floss did a fun list of literal translations for greetings in different languages. I kind of love how these little phrases reveal a bit about the cultures. Here are my faves quoted from Mental Floss’ list. 1. Victory to you! Gamarjoba! Language: Georgian Where it comes from: Georgia, a tiny nation in the South Caucasus, a region that over the last two thousand years has been invaded, conquered and subjugated dozens of times. 2. My Favorite Day at the Beach-FTF Blog Event

For this month’s Full Time Fabulous Event, Kristy Eléna asked us to draw inspiration from the beach. I looooove the beach. The feel of sand under my feet the smell of salt water, the sound of the waves and the relaxed, slow paced attitude in the air makes me feel like I’m in another life. So I decided to share with you my favorite beach trip EVER for my beach inspiration task, which happened on my trip to Negril, Jamaica… View Post

If you follow me on twitter you might have an idea that me and the BF’s favorite date night activity so far this summer has been staying in and watching NBC’s The Voice. This is what I wore to our last date night with The Voice. First we grabbed some dinner at our go-to Italian place in Queens, Pasta Lovers. This place doesn’t look like much but the food is delicious. I’m sorry, but I think my BF has one… View Post

Smile File-Where the Sky Meets the Earth

So our planet is pretty amazing. While stumblin’ the other day I came across the Salar de Uyuni on Daily Random Facts and it really took my breath away. Salar De Uyuni in Bolivia is the world’s largest salt flat. This is what the Salar De Uyuni looks like typically. Already gorgeous, but during the rainy season in winter Salar De Uyuni turns into the world’s largest mirror blurring the distinction between sky and Earth. Can you believe this is… View Post

What I Wore-Bahahahaha

I laugh because just last night the BF and I were watching TV and these sunglasses appeared and I said “Oh I have those guys!” and the BF says to me, “Yeah, never wear those.” Bahahahah! Not that I don’t value my dear BF’s opinion, I do and think he has wonderful taste. But truth is, I wear the things I like :). I won these Coco & Breezy sunglasses from Kimberlee of I Have a Degree in This. I… View Post
