Mayamiko-Ethical Fashion for Your Tiny Tykes

Friends, I am thrilled to have Mayamiko as this week’s Shop for MORE feature. Mayamiko is a registered non-profit organization based in Malawi where well over half of the population live in poverty (source Mayamiko site).

Mayamiko really believes the key to start a positive cycle to lift people out of poverty is education and that is what they provide to the participants in the Mayamiko Trust.

Mayamiko’s line (shop the line HERE) is my first children’s clothing highlight and their wears are too cute for words.

Cristina Barone from Mayamiko Trust contacted me last week to tell me a little bit about the good work and great intentions behind the Mayamiko goods.

“We are a non profit organisation, working to help people lift themselves out of poverty and end injustice through skills training, education, nutrition, sanitation and fair trade practices. Mayamiko works to support creative talents and turn them into sustainable activities.

And by the looks of it they are doing a wonderful job. The Mayamiko Trust is training women in Malawi living with HIV and AIDS (article here) and recently 6 graduates of Mayamiko’s training program are opening their own business (see story here)!!!

Angela one of the NEW business owners and Mayamiko graduate with her children.

Malawi Children’s Village/Mayamiko’s partner in training women.

And of course friends I would not feature Mayamiko if I did not believe in both their cause and their products. So here are some of my favorites from their beautiful collection.

All items linked to Mayamiko’s Facebook shop for easy purchase :).

And the prices are really reasonable too. All items shown are between £13.50 (GBP) £18.00 (GBP) (about $21-$28 USD).

So friends if you are in the market for the cuties in your world please visit Mayamiko’s store HERE!! Make sure to like them on Facebook HERE!! And keep track of all the good they do by following them on twitter HERE!

Happy shopping for MORE!

Awwww!!! Ethical fashions for tiny humans. That’s adorable. If I had a tiny human, I would dress in in themed clothing — like Carmen Miranda, Disney, sailor, princess, rodeo cowgirl …
I will never have a tiny person, though.
Did you notice that I referred to a tiny human as “it”? That’s sign #1 that I would be a horrible mother. Sign #2 is that I am selfish. It’s all about meeeeeeee.
    P.S. I’m on pain killers.
