Blog Love <3-The Blogsphere Is So Kind

I was gifted with some blog awards a little while ago from some pretty special ladies.

  1. Adorable Blog Award from- Jean of Jean of All Trades
  2. One Lovely Blog Award from-Laura of Artfully Artista
  3. Sunshine Award from-Madison of Fashion Tales
  4. Blogger Luxury- Rocquelle of Consider Me Lovely

I am so very very honored and flattered that I was chosen by each of these bloggers. I know these lovelies have very long blogrolls and the decision they made to choose me and made-to-travel to receive these awards really touches me because there are so many great blogs to choose from.

So again thank you times a million to Jean, Laura, Madison and Rocquelle. You ladies really brightened my day with your thoughtfulness and I’m so flattered by your gifts and honored and GRATEFUL to have you as friends and bright stars in my blogsphere.

Each of these awards come with the instruction to share 10 telling things about myself and pass it along.

So let’s START!

1. My most favorite animal is the giraffe. Those long long lashes, their epic height, the gorgeous coloring-really I think they’re magical.

2. I have an enormous  extended family. My dad is 1 of 6 and my mama is 1 of 9- who all multiplied. I think the count on my mom’s side alone is 28 FIRST cousins :D.

3. I come from a multi-faith household. My dad is Buddhist and my mama is Catholic. They both have open minds and never made us choose or pick a god to worship. But they did teach us to believe in something bigger than ourselves and most importantly believe in people.

4. At the moment I want 3 more tattoos.

  • Thai Buddha-My dad is Thai and growing up he wasn’t around much because of his traveling with the U.N. and a huge falling out with my mama. I’m sad we’re not closer and would love to have a tattoo just for him.
  • This Pastel Drawing-It hung in my mama’s house in the Philippines too and it’s a very clear picture in my head of home. The likeness to my grandmother is kind of startling, rumor has it the artist had a big crush on my grandma. Remember this post? Yeah I want Amanda Wachob to tattoo it on me.

I know! Image is crap! It's from 2 blackberries ago, but I really wanted you to see the drawing.

  • The Giving Tree-My brother played The Giving Tree in 1st grade. I 100% remember my mama and aunt painstakingly making his costume. Really fond memory of love and really WONDERFUL book.

5. I can NOT snap or whistle. I’ve really really tried. Some things aren’t meant to be.

6. I do NOT drive. As in I can’t, I don’t have a license.

7. I walk 90% of the time. The subway stresses me out and New York is such a beautiful place I enjoy it by walking or biking, I RARELY take the subway. My boyfriend HATES this. Sorry BF, but I like to experience the city this way, I find a million beautiful things daily because I walk.

Some random pics from my walking.

Yeah, I would’ve missed all of that on the subway ;).

8. I have this mobile in my apartment and it freaks people out! I LOVE it and think it’s super mega rad :D.

9. I am fascinated/obsessed with quantum physics. It’s amazing!!!!!! Gawsh, I wish I could tell you all about what I’ve read, but if you’d like a little peek into this amazing world I highly recommend you start with the Double Slit Screen Experiment HERE. It kind of blew my mind.

Yeah I’m a geek :).

Teee hee….Storm Troopers really have nothing to do with quantum physics I just love that picture.

10. I think I’m awesome at horseback riding even though I’ve only gone twice. Hahahahaha, I think I’m a natural on little evidence, but I really really believe it!!! Someday I’d like to incorporate horseback riding as a real hobby in my life.

So friends, I’m suppose to pass on these lovely things to other blogs but really I can NEVER choose. I love so many and for such various reasons so I find these parameters really limiting. So again I’m stealing Jillian‘s idea to give these awards to all of you blogger friends and readers alike!!

Share something with me!!! I want to know all about you!!!

Again thank you Jean, Laura, Madison and Rocquelle. I heart you girls like crazy and really I am so happy to know you.

Love you… physics has a special place in my heart… this is a wonderful post & closer look about you, I loved reading all of this my dear friend. Giraffes are so fascinating. Big hug back! xxoo

  2. Rocquelle June 28, 2011 / 2:35 pm

You are so welcome; all of your awards are well deserved!! Your 10 facts are so cute!

I come from a big family too! My mom has 12 siblings, and my dad I think has 7 (but I don’t know that side of my family well). I can’t whistle to save my life, or swim either!! I have extra sweat glands in my hands and feet which makes them sweat (sometimes profusely) even when it’s cold.

So glad to have “met” you and consider you amongst my blogger friends.

It’s wonderful to get to know you better. So many things to like about you. Like you I don’t drive- as in I don’t have a license, so an extra hoot and holler about that. Congrats on your awards, most well deserved!

Quantum physics?! wow….. funny thing is , i used to ADORE physics at high school, and was good at it and at chemistry, but then i gave it all up for humanities, literature and writing… funny how life shapes us in so many ways. Love that mobile by the way, oh and I also walk everywhere, I hate public transport, so since I can remember i simply walk walk walk, and it’s true that a lot of people think you are a freak by doing so, but it’s also terribly healthy 🙂

Congrats friend! So many wonderful awards! You of course deserve each and everyone!! Loved reading these little things about you! I think the giving tree tattoo is a great idea! Really pretty too! Oh how I wish I knew you when I lived in NYC! I wasn’t on the subway all that much myself. I was much better at navigating above ground 🙂

Stop trying to be like me! TOTALLY kidding, by the way.

Haha, you leave the funniest comments ever! I’ve been learning some stuff from my bf because he has a Twitter account (which I completely forgot about!). But either way, I completely agree with Sara and think you should do a tutorial on Twitter. You know so much about it and I definitely trust your judgement when it comes to this stuff.

    And yay for awards!

  9. Vix June 28, 2011 / 10:54 pm

  10. jeanofalltrades June 28, 2011 / 11:13 pm

    Giraffes are awesome!

I also love to walk. I’m not a fan of public transportation. There’s so much more to see when you travel by foot. I had the best time in NYC when I walked from 126th in Harlem to 22nd in Chelsea. It took a while, but was the best way to see the city. The photos you shared from your walks are fantastic!

    Thanks for the shout out.

I love that picture of the piano on the street and your mobile! I didn’t know you were so artistic! You have a great eye for noticing the special in the everyday.

Thank you for the fun facts! 🙂

I can’t whistle either! And it took me forever to learn to snap my fingers.

I love to walk around London to experience it better and my BF hates it too (he’s a Londoner born and raised whereas I’m a non-native and as such don’t take it for granted like he does!).

    These are really interesting facts.

The hubby in Blue Valentine had a Giving Tree tattoo! You’ll understand once you see the movie. So sad but so good.
