Smile File-Junk Mail

I love art made of unexpected material.

Talk about upcyling! Sandhi Schimmel Gold makes these pop-art materpieces out of junk mail. Spotted on Flavorwire.

I honestly can not believe the expressions Gold is able to coax out of paper. Amazing what people are able to see and do with really simple materials. I mean these scraps of paper were probably destined for the recycling bin! I can not imagine the vision you need to create these things.

People are rad. You can see Gold’s whole collection here.

Wow spectacular photos!! It is evidence that if you are creative you can make art with anything!! Art comes from within, the external merely acts as a tool.

These are gorgeous. Love the colors. I recently came across a cup made of recycled material and thought of you. I don’t really know your taste in coffee cups that well (haha), but I felt like you would have thought it was really pretty!

I would totally hang these pieces of art in my house. They are lovely!!! I love art that is fashionable and different. I don’t like things that everyone else has. How boring. These are perfect!

Junk mail art is so mind blowingly cool who’d a thunk one could get that out of junk mail. It sure trumps traditional recycling.
